As announced shortly after the May 3 co-sanctioned race at the Speedrome, Rumble Series president Tony Barhorst and Wolverine Outlaw Midget Series president Dan Vander Molen mutually decided to drop the WOMS sanction due to the logistics problems faced by the Michigan-based teams in traveling 4-5 hours from their home base. The May 3 race drew just five WOMS teams. While the Rumble Series was glad to have them (and all certainly are welcome to compete in future Rumble Series events), Dan felt the effort required on his part wasn't worth it for such a small turnout. Thus the mutual decision to drop the WOMS co-sanction.

The original news release is posted rumbleseries.com, I believe.

Decided to quit lurking because I felt the need to thank Tony Barhorst for his efforts in bringing back open wheel racing to the Speedrome. For a long time many have wished this to happen and it took a promoter like Mr. Barhorst to do it. I't's a shame more car owners and fans failed to support him today but myself and my friend were there and will be there the next 2 shows giving our support and enjoying some great open wheel racing once more at the Speedrome. Again THANK YOU VERY MUCH Mr. Barhorst, you are a class act! Can't wait for the winged sprints and the UMRA TQs!

Thanks Tony. I don't know that many would have blamed you for pulling the plug but you went through the entire show as advertised. Looking forward to the July 19 show. Thanks to you and all that showed yesterday.

Congratulations to Kyle Hamilton for TWO wins this weekend...At Grundy County Saturday night...and The Speedrome. The purse went up this event from May 3 ...and we had fewer cars. I chalk that up to the midgets coming off a very busy last week..with multiple races to choose from on a limited budget.

In regard to the Wolverine sanction drop...I wanted to keep that sanction and promote their series. They decided on their own to drop it. I agreed to let them out of the contract. The main problem?...SOME of their teams do not want to travel.

These teams ran with us the first time from WOMS- Doug Dietsch; Kim Hughes; Dave Troyer; Dan Vander Molen- They are willing to travel...their other teams would just as soon stay in Michigan. They balked at having points on a race at the Speedrome after we signed the contract. Dan Vander Molen is a good leader..most teams didn't follow.

Jimmy Anderson is a great driver..and a WOMS member...but he is the UMARA Champion..I consider him UMARA.

Here is what our payout was yesterday:

May 31 midget payout: $1200, $800, $600, $400, $350, $300, $275, $250, $225, $200 for 10th through 20th ($6,600feature purse). B Main if necessary, $100 each for cars not transferring
