He flipped in the C. Said there was some confusion on where to stop for the fuel check. I hope he runs the alphabet soup Saturday. Would be very interesting.
He was on a tear went from last passing for the lead and flipped. It was great watching him put on a show. He said in a interview that they didn’t stop him. Apparently you have to be the fuel there, but they still tech it?

Well, just because you have to buy the fuel there doesn't mean that you can't screw with it. . . . .
I think you have to use the fuel provided. Something about the makeup of it makes it easier to tolerate the fumes in the indoor area (wish they would use it at Du Quoin). I don’t know Chili Bowl procedures for checking the fuel, but I read somewhere they fuel check is done to make sure the fuel that is required, which has been dyed with color, is what is being used. I have no doubt Yeley simply missed the checkpoint somehow. Never known him to be accused of flouting rules.
In compliance with our contract with the Tulsa Fairgrounds, ALL participants MUST run fuel purchased from Simons Petroleum at the Event. This fuel, containing 10% ethanol, will improve the air quality inside the building. Fuel will be checked in the staging area & any infractions will result in disqualification of car and driver. A colored dye will be added to the fuel for the purpose of enforcing the rule. There will be no exceptions and this will be monitored by the Tulsa Fairgrounds. NO outside fuel will be permitted. Any trailers found to be transporting fuel into the building will be escorted from the premises by the Tulsa Fire Marshall.
Sounds like an air quality/fire safety measure. After crashing in the C, I think JJ said something about being waved by coming off the track.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty. JJ Yeley is a fine person. I seriously doubt anything underhanded in what is essentially a winter vacation lottery.

Get a grip, keep the **** stirring to yourself
I am not accusing anyone of anything. The poster asked why fuel testing was required since they had to use the fuel provided. I just stated one of the reasons for the testing. . . chill. . . .
