I'm in the process of restoring my Dad's 1968 Nance sprint car. I've had the car for awhile, but I'm starting to get serious about it. One of the few big items I need is a set of side bells for a Frankland rear end (see picture). They were for a closed tube rear end, but the tubes bolted on with six bolts. Any of you guys have anything like this?

The picture of the car is from Warsaw Speedway in about 1978.

Tom, did you get a hold of Jim Mann? Pretty sure he has connections with vintage stuff.

You might try Bruce Schneider at Gearhead's Quickchange Exchange in Davisburg, Michigan.

Flagboy,
Yes, I've talked to Jim. I know him well. I think my first sprintcar is still setting behind his shop.

Speedwrench,
Do you have a number for Bruce? I can't seem to find one.

I've called the current manufacturers of Frankland rears as well as Jamie Frankland, who's family owned Frankland back in the day. I actually got the pictures of the needed parts from Jamie.

Any chance a Halibrand bell can be used? Quick changes look to be based on a Ford Model A or similar axle. The early ones may retain that same 10 bolt pattern and bearing location from whatever they were based on and might be interchangeable.

I assume you're familiar with the Facebook page "Nance Sprint Cars." If not, you should check it out. Lots of knowledge and information there, as well as occasionally parts for sale.

Halibrand won’t work. It’s a different bolt pattern than a Frankland. I actually have a set of halibrand ones, but it’s very important to me that this car is correct.

I’m familiar with the Nance Facebook page, but these are not Nance specific. But I do have a request on the Vintage Race Car page. Thank you.
