3 Wide Life Restructures Format, Wins Awards, Remains # 1 Motorsports Show

Charlotte, NC (September 16, 2009) – Entering its fifth season, the nationally syndicated motorsports program 3 Wide Life can now add the words “award-winning” to its moniker. Receiving two Telley Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Educational Programming as well as Outstanding Achievement in Automotive/ Motorsports Programming, the "Show for Real Racers" has quickly made a name for itself. Now airing more than 450 times a week and in over 75 million homes, 3 Wide Life is garnering more than a million viewers a week.
"We filled a void that was larger than we thought," said producer Parker Williams. "Our success is a tribute to 'keeping it real', providing content that is driven by the viewers. Fans get enough of the big-time productions that reiterate the same content, news and stories over and over. 3 Wide Life, hasn't forgotten or abandoned the die-hard fans. We know what they want and we do everything we can to get it to them."
In the newest installments of the 30 minute show, 3 Wide Life has switched to a multi-host format. The idea is to keep things fresh and occasionally bring in big name guest host like Michael Waltrip to give the fans an even more in depth look into the personalities of their favorite drivers. In addition, the show will continue to focus on the grass roots racer, always in search for the sport’s next big star.
The producers remain ambitious with some big plans for this season and beyond. New events, bigger interviews, increased availability and clothing/gear are all part of the new direction. “We have become a synonym for the racing lifestyle. The brand image resonates with the racer and the fan alike. People get it.”

More to the story…

• Episode synopsis … In this week’s episode of 3 Wide Life, Tony Rizzuti and Meghan Stanton visit Roush Fenway Racing to speak with Daytona 500 winning crew chief Drew Blickensderfer. Meghan sits down at Red Horse Racing with TJ Bell and discusses the transition from open wheel racing to the NASCAR Truck Series. Tiff Daniels tells us how she balances being an engineer at Earnhardt Gannasi Racing as well as a NASCAR Drive for Diversity driver in the Camping World East Series. Tony heads to Duke University to meet another Drive for Diversity driver named Paulie Harraka and tears up the campus in an SAE car built by the students. Shane Hmiel goes wake surfing with fellow USAC competitor Josh Wise as they talk about the challenges of making it as a big time driver.
