OK, this question has me mildly perplexed.

When was the last A-list major motion picture, with known movie stars and nationwide theatrical release in local movie theaters, which had sprint car racing as the major focus of the motion picture? Is it possible that there has been no such major movie in the past 50 years?

Max, here's an old link with some info about a movie that Sal Scarpitta was involved in called PayDirt. I can't find much about the film anymore. I believe it was shown at Cannes Film Festival. I was there when they filmed at Lincoln Speedway.

OT but was watching Volcano the other day and Tommy Lee Jones had a Shaver Engines (out of California) t-shirt on with a sprint on the back of it. Thought that was pretty random.

I would like to see Jimmy Wilson come to life on the big screen, "Sprint Car Salvation" wonderful title.

Gene Hackman was set to produce a Sprint Car racing movie in 1972, entitled "Good Luck, Roy Neil." It never ended up getting made.
