The 24th annual "Illinois state Midget Racing Championship" Will be run at Grundy county Speedway on
Saturday evening, Aug 20th. The Illini Racing group is the sanctioning body along with Midwest Midget Series group. Membership is not required to enter.
This is a very special event. Some of the highlights are as follows.
30 lap feature for the midget championship- plus qualifying and heat races
This is a sponsored event and will pay a premium purse as well as a beautiful trophy for the winner.
Only $ 5.00 General grandstand admission -Children 11 and under are free.
A well known grand Marshall
Big wheel races at intermission for the kids
A lucky number program with a cash prize of $ 50.00 and several other gift certificates will be sold for $2.00
At least three, maybe four support divisions insures more than a hundred laps of racing.
Pre-entry for the midgets is very good and insures a full field of competitive cars.
Its family fun and thrills for everyone!

Had some questions on lightning sprints or chain driven motorcycle engine cars. Yes we will allow them and they must follow the same D2 Midget rules as the D2 Dirt series. Weight rules will for now be the same as the D2 rules but we may have to adjust it. Tire rules will be the same for all cars regardless of engine types as previously stated.

The race at Grundy will be $125 to start snd the race at Kalamazoo will be $100 to start. Full purse is still be figured out and will depend on sponsors and car counts. These are guaranteed minimum to start regaeeless of car counts.

We are allowing the Honda HDP cars and the old Ford Focus cars to race with us. In short if you have a car that does not fit the normal D2 rules or the national engines with the restrictor on the engines please feel free to message me. I'll get you a response. I know we have a wide variety of car types racing together and we don't want to turn anyone away.
