BOSS Lawrenceburg Bound This Saturday

The Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series is set to make its only appearance of 2018 at the legendary Lawrenceburg Speedway this Saturday, May 19th. This stop is one fans will not want to miss as it is always a great car count when the Kelsey Chevrolet Sprint Cars defend their home turf from the traveling invaders. One year ago, this event drew 41 entries before a thunderstorm washed out the night following 5 excellent heat races!

After mother nature claimed the season opener, NASCAR XFinity driver, Chase Briscoe won round #2 at Fremont Speedway. Defending series champion, Dustin Smith, led most of the event before climbing an infield tire, bicycling, and falling to 3rd. He virtually leads the early points as the highest current full time driver in the standings. Bill Rose, Carmen Perigo and Mike Miller also had top 10 finishes at Fremont and come into Lawrenceburg as the closest challengers to Smith.

In all, 17 teams have signed in with plans to chase the 2018 tour title. Other drivers on the circuit include Chad Wilson, Steve Little, Paul Dues, Cody Gardner, Matt Cooley, Buddy Lowther, Bob McMillin, Joe Liguori, Cole Ketcham, Kirk Jeffries, Kyle May, Ted Hines and Ty Tilton. With the Lawrenceburg Speedway regulars mixed in, this is sure to be one of the best fields of the season.

The standard BOSS purse of $1,500 to win and $250 to start is on the line. As always, a plethora of bonus awards are on the table. The tour's open tire rule is supported by both sprint car tire manufaturers anda free tire will be awarded to the highest feature finisher on all 4 of each brand.

Heat race cash is provided by 4 heat race sponsors in the amounts of $40, $30, $20 and $10 to the top 4 in each heat. This money is provided by TCB Speed (the official BOSS parts supplier), Lias Tire / American Racer, Hoosier Racing Tire, and All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads and owner Bob Williams.

Other $50 cash bonus awards include the Apple Metal Polishing "Lucky Pill Draw", the Bridge Restaurant "Hard Charger Award", the Horne Performance Racing "Perseverance Award", the Cowen Truck Line "Steel Block Bonus", the J.F. Construction "Hard Luck Award", and finally, a $50 gift certificate from All Star Performance Products to the "Sweet Move of the Night".

Saturday's pit gates will open at 4 pm while general admission gates open at 5 pm. Hot Laps will begin at 6 with racing action at 7. Adult general admission is $17 while children age 7-12 are just $7 and kids 6 and under are free of charge. Pit passes for all ages are $30.

For competing teams, there are no fees to race with the series. Transponders are generously provided by Lawrenceburg Speedway free of charge. For this event, MUFFLERS ARE REQUIRED!

We look forward to seeing everyone this Saturday!

A special thanks goes out to our other sponsors who help make this series possible including: FAST Signs, Superior Bearing Supply, The Blue Room Restaurant, Griff's Engines, Keizer Wheels, Saldana Tanks & Bladders, Cooley Cabinets and Superior Tank & Trailer.
