For the record, it was working fine last week. This week they only had a "swirl", which was vanilla that was colored green and orange in honor of Josh Burton. As it's kinda hard to dye chocolate. Still a nice tribute nonetheless.

I was really impressed with Brandon Morin. He won his heat over some stout competition and was hanging with the big dogs for awhile before fading back to 9th in the feature.

The track, once again, was in fantastic shape. And even Robert Ballou commented on how great the track was. Nice big cushion, heavy bottom...no dust. Very entertaining feature!

I had heard a couple of the top three commented that this is what happens when sprints have enough track to grab onto and race rather than skating around. I agree, that's the way Bloomington always used to be nice fat cushion with a low groove coming out of the corners. There for about ten years it just was slick and mostly on the bottom. Seems the last couple years they've been hitting the prep better more often than not.

Check out Ballou's twitter feed and see what he says about the Half mile SAFE/SLICK's Your loosing fans and they ain't no safer when you slide right into a wall or can't stop on it.
