I just wanted to congratulate Cole Whitt on an outstanding debut in the NASCAR Camping World East Series this past Saturday at Greenville Pickens Speedway. Although most of us would rather see him piloting a sprint or midget around the midwest this summer, it is pretty neat to see that his talents were recognized and it is paying off already. Cole won the pole for his maiden race with the Red Bull team and was leading with just a few laps remaining when he was beaten off the line during a dreaded green/white/checkered scenario. Cole had some contact on the backstretch of the final lap, but still came home 4th out of the 30 competitors. Even though it is a shame he will only be racing around 10 times this year, I would like to wish Cole all the luck in the world on his journey through the ranks of the tintops. The next race for the Alpine Assassin will be this weekend at South Boston Speedway...good luck Cole, and congratulations!!! By the way...this race will air on SPEED Thursday night at 6pm if anyone is interested.
