What was the final verdict on the upright lightning sprints running with the midgets? Tried calling the track but only got a recorded voice. I'm thinking of bringing two cars on Friday, what kind of car count can we expect?

Not sure on Gas City, but they are definitely legal at Montpelier. We have a $50 cash bonus on top of the normal pay this Saturday to the highest finishing focus, echo tech, or motorcycle powered entry. Thanks to Watson racing for sponsoring this bonus.

Jim,
I ran my #97 with the Midgets at Gas City on May 23rd. There were 17 cars that night and I was the only Motorcyle-powered car there. With more seat time and the correct front brake pads (another story), I could see where I could possibly keep up. It's a nice size for the little cars, with good banking and a little more clay than Montepelier; if I get my car back from Leader's Edge in time I'm considering doing the double this weekend but more likely to make it to Montpelier.

I wish more people would just try it. Gas City and Montpelier are going way out of their way to bring midgets back to Indiana. People complain nobody runs them now we have 2 tracks busting there butts trying to make it happen.

If Jim and that White #51 car make it to Gas City, keep an eye on him, I can almost guarantee you that him and that little Suzuki will be right up in the front pack with the best of the Midgets.

Even a fast 600 can keep pretty close.. and a fast 1200 cycle car will beat any USAC car on a quarter mile especially if the track slicks off.... Just ask Bigelow and Sandy .. haha... Finally.. some track owners woke up... Put the cycle cars right in with the push start cars... Love it... and I paid $1000 to win and $200 to start.. at every show...!! up to 2006.... $500 for fast time .. is the answer.... Sure Hope these two tracks keep the cycle cars mixed in with the push start cars.... |
