DEFENDING CHAMP IS FIRST TO ENTER BUDWEISER OVAL NATIONALS!

(Perris, CA, August 17, 2011) The first driver to submit an entry for the 16th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway is defending race champion Chris Windom of Canton, Illinois. The three day speed fest will take place on November 3rd, 4th and 5th.

In 2010, Windom scored the most dominating performance in the first 15 editions of the Oval Nationals. Starting on the front row in the blue Jeff Walker owned #11, the 20-year-old racing star jumped to a commanding lead at the green flag and led all 40-laps of the celebrated main event.

For the 2011 version of America's most prestigious traditional Sprint Car race, Windom will be steering the bright orange Baldwin Brothers #5. Thus far in 2011, he is ranked second in the Amsoil USAC National Sprint Car point standings and he won the Indiana Sprint Week championship in July. In addition, he currently leads the point standings at Indiana's Kokomo Speedway. Like the Oval Nationals, Windom is the defending champion at Kokomo.

If the Oval Nationals were held today, Windom's second place in the USAC National Sprint Car standings would make him eligible for the "Legends of Ascot Match Race." The race will pit the top two in USAC/CRA points, top two in USAC National points and one wild card driver in a series of four, four-lap races for a first place prize that is expected to exceed $5,000.00. The "LOAMR" will take place on Friday, November 4th.

The Budweiser Oval Nationals, America's most prestigious traditional Sprint Car race, will take place on November 3rd, 4th and 5th and will be a full points paying event for the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car and the Amsoil USAC National Sprint Car Series'. In addition, it attracts other top stars from around the nation.

In addition to the 410 Sprint Cars, the popular California Lightning Sprint Cars will also be in action on Friday and Saturday.
