ok my wife and I are really thinking hard about making the trek from Oklahoma to Indiana for isw.
my questions are ...
1. ive heard great things but it is a long week..worth it..?
2. do they sale general adm. tickets/? do we need res. seats at each place?
3. what are the do's and dont's?
4. it looks like there are a couple times you might be able to stay in the same hotel for a couple nights..? maybe?

any insight will be much appreciated,
thanks in advance

If it was me I would think about going to Midget week, 5 straight nights of racing and you will see great sprint car racing as a bonus. Sprint week is kind of broken up between two weeks. I myself will be at all of them.

I'd like to see Midget week too, but it doesn't fit my schedule. Neither does Sprint Week, which is why I haven't been there yet, but its more feasible. 2 yrs. ago I hit Haubstadt on my way to Knoxville (from visiting Mom on East Coast), last year Kokomo Smackdown.... I'm sold!

Its so worth it, its a great week and half of racing Gas City and Kokomo are the first 2 nights and aren't far apart in mileage. Probably could stay in Kokomo both nights. The burg is the 3rd night and there is a casino right across the street which is loads of fun! T.H.A.T and LPS are 4th and 5 night both not many miles apart as well. Bloomington is night 6 the most awesome red clay track ever. Night 7 is Tri-state speedway the racing there is always very good. Tickets are all GA at the tracks. Kokomo, LPS, The Burg, Tri-State all have GA seating on both the Front and Back stretches of the track. All the tracks have a higher price for pit admission. Most have pit seating as well. Gas City, Kokomo, The Burg, no coolers inside the track. LPS you can take a cooler in but no beer I believe. Tri-State, T.H.A.T., Bloomington you can have coolers and beer inside the track. All Tracks I believe also sell beer. My advice is to get a pit pass at all the tracks but sit were ever you want when your not in the pits. If you have never been arrive early and take it all in. Hope you make it this year! Have fun!!

My first question would be how much driving are you willing to do between nights? I like simplicity myself, so I would probably book one hotel on the N or NW side in Indy for the first 5 races. Here's why using the 465 loop as a clock face.

Night 1&2 you could US 31 north (noon) and be to either track in under 90 mins. Kokomo even less.
Night 3 would have a drive to get to Lawrenceburg but it's very easy to get to w/ a jaunt down 74E (5'oclock). I'd estimate 2hrs drive time. There's a Casino Resort close to the track if that's your thing and an overnight was desired.
Races 4&5 are gonna be out 70W.(9'oclock) once again easy drives around 90 mins or less.
The central location in Indy would also keep you close if another event like previous years bowling tournaments happen on a down night. Not to mention access to IMS and other indpls based racing operations.
Last two nights are SW so I'd say book something down that way for the finales and be that much closer to home. If that's too much driving during the week at least you know what part of IN the tracks are.

It's worth it, we promise! Each track has its own characteristics but they're all chock full of awesome.

All I know is, if you come, you're not gonna want to go back to Oklahoma. There's nothing quite like Indiana Sprint Week.

Tri-State DOES allow coolers in and they also sell beer there too, and the same with Terre Haute.
