Next Race Saturday May 10th at
Western Kentucky Speedway!
$5000 Purse

MMSA Racers Recap for Brownstown May 3rd 2014

"As some of the familiar names take off MMSA's opening week a heated battle develops amongst the rookie of the year contenders."

Although veteran racer Lynn Ambrose was victorious in Saturday Night's Brownstown event most of the action was within its rookie class.

As for the rookies, five new drivers hit the track Saturday night in their first MMSA event of 2014. The feature ran 20 straight laps without incident, and many of the new drivers looked like old pros racing clean side by side.

The #49 machine of Troy Fortune topped the rookie class with a 9th place finish. Former Hornet racer Mike Miller stood out early in his heat race, but after battling some spindle issues he was able to salvage a 12th place position in the feature event. Bobby Griffits of Bloomington driving the #45 was adjusting to the use of a wing for the first time and he claimed the 13th spot, followed by #00 ERC of Corey Meadows. Bloomington's Kyle Dugan battled mechanical problems all night and was unable to finish the feature event.

Great job by all the drivers completing a caution free race, we hope to see everyone at Western Kentucky Speedway this Saturday!

Scheduling News:

MMSA officials were notified by Brownstown Speedway of a scheduling conflict for the May 17th non wing show. We were unable to secure that date, and it has been officially canceled. We are working with the Brownstown team to replace this non wing race later in the season.

In other scheduling news Charlestown Speedway has been closed, this is beyond our control however the races held at Charlestown Speedway will possible be rescheduled at other facilities, and the dates will be issued TBA's.

September 26th TBA:
Many of you have noticed a TBA on our initial schedule. This race date was set aside for the World of Outlaws Bloomington Speedway date, Indy Race Parts has leased the speedway for the WOO Steve Kinser Welcome Home Special. We along with many other classes are negotiating with Indy Race Parts to be a part of that show. We will know more once WOO officials meet with owner of Indy Race Parts to determine an appropriate fit for the WOO program.

Stay tuned for more news

And see you all in KY!

Any MMSA member or mini sprint looking to run wingless on May 17th is welcome at the Montpelier Motor Speedway to compete within our Midget division. With 21 cars, the feature will pay $150 just to start.

This could be a good tune up for the June MMSA show as the track has changed since the last time the MMSA competed. We would love to have your support and are excited about the MMSA returning on June 21 (also an off-night for WRP).
