Glad to see them back in Joliet, however it’s not co-sanctioned with the Allstars like it has been in years past. That’s kinda disappointing, but after the debacle last year with Larson being disqualified and the dragging out the show, I’m probably the only one who’s going to miss them

For an interesting point of reference, and of a historical nature, I am looking at a 1996 Hartford Speedway schedule. The IRA had SIX appearances over here that year. Amazing that this series once did this tour over on this side of the big lake. Kim Mock, Joe Roe, Mike Frost, Raymond Hensley.... A great series it was and still is.

Of course, we were all younger men then, the economy was a different beast, racing on the dirt was not fading out, and we all looked like Humphrey Bogart with cigs hanging out of our mouths, only Ingrid Bergman wasn't in attendance.

But maybe Lauren Bacall was having a cheap beer up high in Turn 1......

When I was still working for Hartford we pushed HARD for an IRA show several years in a row. The biggest reason they refused was the track still being a half mile at the time and Steve just didn't want to put his guys at that much risk. Couldn't get another track to go in with us on the same weekend either. Such a difference in generations on who is willing to travel where. IRA (in my opinion) is still the best bang for the buck quality winged series I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

Hey Mike would you be able to post a picture of the 1996 Hartford Speedway Schedule? Love looking at the past.

It is a poster. I had to spread it out on the floor.
