Junk yards have core engines sitting everywhere probably around 60-80 bucks>>then rebuild it and stick her in. But personally if it fit I would find a late model motor 2012 and up and not mess with the the rebuilding thing the take out motors are cheaper than rebuilding and the car makers do better work.

Montpelier does allow USAC & POWRi "national" engines, but they have to weigh 1050 lbs (which is the weight for USAC and I believe POWRi) ; at Montpelier an Ecotec-powered car has no minimum weight. Motorcycle-powered cars also have no weight limit and can run 12" right rear wheel.
National motors are verboten in D-II but oddly, all shaft-driven cars have to weigh 1125 lbs, 75 lbs heavier than a national Midget. That may be a tough weight for a short-wheelbase TQ-based chassis to meet without some lead or a really bountiful Holiday season for the driver.

So, not only did they vote out the 1400's that we were originally told would be allowed, it looks like any "grandfathering" of oil-cooled 1200's (as originally "promised") is off the table, no mention of mechanical injection for m/c engines and the ignition system that came with my car is not on the list.
Not only that, it looks like new rear rims are in order if you currently run 10's & 12's and want to comply with POWRi rules.
Montpelier looks better & better every day. I'm not thrilled that it's the only place I can run without spending a lot of money but it does simplify things...

These are only a rough draft so to speak they left the back door open for changes. And I think Bear and the old time Midget people will also be racing a few more times next season. Now the Competition begins to win the hearts and souls of alternative Midget racers. Should be an interesting summer. I would almost venture to say that Mr. Hunter and company still have the best set of rules for this division?? The secret is Montpelier is about the largest track these Midgets should ever race on>>> smaller would even be better. One big secret of success is knowing how one fits into the scheme of things.

Yeah, I saw that "out" clause but I figure they won't do anything mid-season and I doubt any changes will favor me much, but that's OK, it'll be fun trying something a little different at the home track.
I saw somewhere that Union County's up for sale, something like 850k; if we got 100 guys to put up ten grand we could have us a place to race, and enough to buy a new generator and a few truckloads of clay. You game?
