Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget Series To Return in 2013

The Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, Indiana (East Central Indiana) is pleased to announce the Montpelier Midget Series WILL return for its second season as the series continues into 2013. Shane Hollingsworth was the only series repeat winner winning 3 races. The series crowned 4 additional winners during the 2012 season including first time full midget winners – Nick Speidel, Brandon Matus, and Michael Koontz along with Critter Malone picking up a series win. The series in 2012 saw Lynsey Tilton win the track championship.
  • The Midget Series will again compass a maximum of 10 dates for the 2013 Track Championship
  • The open tire brand/compound rule will again be in place allowing competitors their choice of tire brand and compound.
  • National Production engines (such as Fontana, Gaerte, Stanton, Esslinger, etc…) will still be legal and rules will still be in place to allow a mixture of power plants (such as Ford Focus, Stock Production Block, and motorcycle type powered engines) to be competitive utilizing an unlimited weight break and additional tire width to supplement power differences.

Midget dates will be released along with any other series changes in late January with our 2013 Schedule release. Thanks to fans, drivers, and car owners for your support of the 2012 season. We hope to have your support along with gaining additional support in 2013.

Any driver/car owner who would like to provide further feedback or suggestions not offered during our track survey can email bemcevoy@yahoo.com or PM me to provide that input.

Thanks to the management At MMS for sticking with this program. You people are a diamiond in the ruff and breath of fresh air regarding promoting midget racing. Congratulations. It was a long time coming. This is only going to get better and better. Despite the ******** demonstrated by surrounding midget organizations that look the other way when it comes down to looking after the owners/drivers, you've done a great job. Now, if we can only get away from the exotic, expensive and ancient power plants as the norm with OEM type engines that cost a fraction of what we are spending currently to keep a race car on the track... that will really be a step forward. The 1950s push truck way of doing things needs to go.

It is a great deal for the lower budget Midget teams and even some Mini-Sprint teams too. Please consider a couple of Sprint Car shows in 2013! It is a great place to race a Sprinter and I'm sure the fans would enjoy it too!

Thanks,
J.T.

That would help out a bunch to keep the car and hauler up there. Gas prices are just going to keep going up and at 10mpg that haul could be an expensive trip. The 1000cc cars, echotecs and ford car don't require much up keep other than washing and oil changes.
