The Sandy #16 was driven exclusively by Tom Bigelow throughout the ‘80’s, winning the USAC National Midget Championship in 1984 and placing in the top 4 in points for 5 consecutive years. He won and campaigned on tracks ranging from 1/10 mile indoors, quarter mile tracks, ½ mile Terre Haute & Eldora and the mile tracks at Springfield, DuQuoin and Indianapolis. The car is complete, in running condition, w/151 CI Autocraft, Schroeder Steering, Winters Rear End and Lockheed brakes. This car was gradually upgraded over the years to keep it current and competitive, however ALL of the original parts are still available, including the oil tank, seat w/upholstery, Nerf bars, bumpers, windshield, shocks, Halibrand knock-off hubs and Lockheed brakes. Additionally, there are 3 hoods, 2 tail tanks, 1 tail shell, 2 nose cones and 1 dirt nose cone. Also available are additional parts, including but not limited to, 1 motor plate; 2 instrument panels; front axels; a complete Jones Rear End; 3 spare spindles; 3 exhaust header sets w/ 2 Super Trap mufflers; 13” aluminum wheels (8); 10 Pro Shocks; 2 Halibrand wing nuts; 2 drive shafts; 3 torque bells; 2 u-joints; various steering components, spacers, torsion stops; 1 tachometer; water temperature and oil pressure gauges; Schroeder pinless quick release hub; 2pc brake hat. This car could run competitively indoors or is easily restorable to the early 1980’s car. Complete racing history, photographs and related information is available. This car is priced to sell.
