once again, all I can ask is where are these owners hiding their cars during the racing season and why don't more of them participate in real out door racing, it's not like we don't have a sh** ton of extremely capable pilots here in ohio and Indiana/ I suspect that more promoters in this hot bed of sprint car racing would promote more midget shows if you came out of your caves during race season!

Look at where some of the drivers come from. Do you think there is a midget track within a hundred miles of Beaver Lake Ne., Beloit Wi., Rattlesnake Bend Az., or Bentonville Ar. Midgets are a very high dollar maintenance type race car. A lot of the owners can't afford to race them for the small purses that are offered. So once or twice a year they dust them off take them out to a street corner and pimp them out to the highest bidder. Honest Dad himself

of course not daddy-o, but there's still a lot of em in the Midwest and east/ yup race cars are expensive but why bother with them at all if you're only gonna run em once a year (talk about cost effectiveness)

Thunder
They kinda got a love affair going on with these things and just ain't going to give up on them. I just wish they could get their costs of racing down and their purses up so racers could compete more often. With out a doubt for the thrill of racing and supper close racing you just can't beat a midget. You have to be pretty well off to run a midget full time, and pretty soon even the high rollers can see a big hole in their bank account. Honest Dad himself |
