FAST Indiana Doubleheader Weekend

This Friday and Saturday, the NAPA Auto Parts - FAST on Dirt winged 410 sprint cars will kick off the holiday weekend with a pair of stops in the Hoosier state. Friday night, Gas City Speedway will be the scene and one night later, the teams will move on to the Montpelier Motor Spedway just 35 minutes away. One year ago, these tracks hosted winged events under the "BOSS" name, just prior to BOSS acquiring ownership of the FAST on Dirt tour.

In the 2018 events, the Gas City race found 27 teams in the pit area. California hot shoe Giovanni Scelzi proved you could pass in wing cars on a heavy - hammerdown 1/4 mile. He charged from 14th starting spot to pass Caleb Armstrong in the final corner and steal the win. Brandon Wimmer had looked like a sure winner early, but tangled with a lapped car, dropping him from contention.

At Montpelier in late September, Lee Jacobs lowered the all time track record by over 6/10th's of a second! It was Lockbourne, Ohio driver Cole Duncan winning the main event though. Jacobs and Kody Kinser completed the podium as 29 winged 410 sprints graced the pit area.

This season, Duncan and Jacobs have ruled the tour thus far. Duncan holds a slight advantage in the championship standings. Tyler Gunn, Cody Bova, and Jordan Harble complete the top 5 in current standings.

Friday at Gas City, pit gates open at 3 while general admission gates open at 4:30. Hot laps will be at 6:30 with time trials immediately following. Racing will begin at 7:30. General admission is $20 with kids 12 and under free. Pit passes are $30 and yellow Westhold transponder rental will be $10.

Saturday at Montpelier, gates will open at 3. Hot laps will begin at 5 with qualifying immediately following. Racing is slated to begin at 6:30. General admission will again be $20 with kids 12 and under free. Pit passes will be $30 and transponder rental WILL be included in that price.

Mufflers are NOT required at either venue. Fuel will be available for sale both nights. There are NO membership fees or entry fees with FAST.

Complete payout each night: 3000, 1500, 1000, 700, 600, 550, 500, 475, 450, 425, 400, 380, 360, 340, 320, 300, 300, 300, 300, 300. B-Main cars get $100 each.
Heat Races Pay: 40, 30, 20, 10
There are also 3 bonus awards worth $50 each

Don't forget, hotel special rate at the Gas City Super 8 for just $69 plus tax for Friday night - phone 765-997-8096 and ask for the FAST Racer's Rate.

Health complications for promoter, Harold Hunter, has forced the postponement of the August 31st races at the Montpelier Motor Speedway.
