F1 has just mandated halos for driver protection commencing next season - 2018. Now the ball is in IndyCar's court as to how they might react. That series and other open wheel series or the sort.

F1 had Ferrari test large windscreens at Silverstone this past round but the feedback was negative. Hence they have decided to implement the halo.

There was a previous thread started on this by me, but since then, photobucket has changed their terms (they want $$$) and all pics I posted are no longer on IOW. That thread was started right after Justin Wilson lost his life at Pocono.

Time will tell, but IMO F1 has been very proactive in safety issues.
