Tony Stewart Racing Returns as Sponsor of Rookie of the Year

The Midwest TQ Racing League presented by Jenmarco.com would like to welcome back Tony Stewart Racing as the presenting sponsor of their Rookie of the Year Award.

2015 marks the sixth season of the MTQRL’s Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Year Award with previous winners CJ Leary (2010), Cody Kiewitt (2011), Devin Fairchild (2012), Aaron Percell (2013) and Tyler Wooten (2014).

At each event, the rookie driver with the highest feature finish will be named the Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Race and awarded a $50 cash prize. At season’s end the rookie driver who accumulates the most points will be honored as the Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Year, receiving a $250 cash prize at the MTQRL’s Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony. Additionally the second and third place rookie drivers will receive cash prizes of $150 and $100 respectively.

A rookie driver is defined as a driver who has not driven a class of car larger than a three-quarter midget, or a three-quarter midget or a racecar of equal size more than three (3) times in competition.

Drivers currently set to vie for 2015 Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Year honors include Quentin Baker, Bret Johnson and Callie Wolsiffer. Any others who wish to contend for Rookie of the Year please contact Sandy Lowe at mtqrl.pr@gmail.com.

Stewart’s sponsorship of the Rookie of the Year will not be his only involvement with the MTQRL this season. As previously announced the July 14th Bartholomew County Fair race will be billed as “Tony Stewart Foundation Night at the Races.” The Tony Stewart Foundation will also be the presenting sponsor of the Leader of the Pack Award. This award will be presented to the driver who leads the most feature laps over the course of the season.
