* * * Best wishes to everyone at Kokomo tonight celebrating the life and legacy of BC - thanks to several of the BOSS teams who are there representing us!!

Atomic Anticipates BOSS Return

With the Rick's Trucks & Equipment BOSS tour now in its 6th season of racing, there has been many memorable moments along the way. Andre Layfield's run from 17th to steal the win off turn 4 at the checkers at Wayne County back in 2013. There was the epic Whitewater slide job battle of 2014 when Logan Hupp defeated Kevin Thomas Jr. Just this season, at Lernerville, and classic 6 car battle in the closing stages found Justin Owen upsetting the field and scoring his first career win on the last lap.

Combine the excitement in all those close finishes, maybe throw in all the excitement from the Rio Olympics, and you still wouldn't have the level of excitement that was present during the finish of the last BOSS race at Atomic Speedway. It was last July that the warriors of the BOSS tour came into Atomic Speedway to reel off 25 green flag laps that came down to a 3 car photo finish between eventual winner Todd Kane along with Landon Simon and Dallas Hewitt. The final half of the last lap found all 3 drivers taking a turn at the front of the pack and the 3 car photo finish saw Hewitt sent flipping down the track destroying the Chip Pearson owned #69.

This year it will be defending tour champion and current point leader, Shawn Westerfeld, who leads the drivers onto the Atomic high banks. Known as the "Guilford Gasser" from Guilford, Indiana, Westerfeld is in search of history attempting to go back to back and become the first ever repeat champion. A pair of youngsters, Cooper Clouse and Justin Owen, both from Ohio, still have six events in which to claim their first ever championship title. Michael Fischesser and Chad Wilson round out the current top 5 in points and still have realistic title hopes as well.

This Saturday at Atomic Speedway, pit gates open at 2 pm with general admission gates open at 4 pm. Hot laps will begin at 6:30. Pit Passes will be $30 with kids pit prices at $15. General admission for adults is just $15 with seniors and veterans admitted for $13. Kids aged 12 and under are free. In addition to the BOSS traditional wingless sprints, fans will also see AMRA late models along with modifieds and sport mods while an enduro will close out the show.

Awesome show for the sprint cars. 32 NW Sprints

Swanson in the Hampshire 63, Tony Main, Dallas Hewitt and Dustin Smith swapping the lead in the last five laps so often you couldn't keep track. Swanson, Main from fifth to second in the final five laps. Dallas Hewitt top three.
