I was in Phoenix for a visit with my Grandson and got a couple of tickets to the Western World Championships at Canyon Speedway just up the road.

You get the best of the East, the Southwest, and the West coast when you attend this race. Put it on the bucket list, as you will see some great racing for open wheel fans.

Matt Rossi a local that lives 25 miles from the track put on a clinic on how to run this track with the tricky condition that presented themselves to the racers on this night. R. J. Johnson lead early with Ryan Bernal nipping at his rear bumper, as the two battled in turns 1 and 2 Rossi shot by both to take the lead and never look back.

Darren Hagen said he was blest to be able to win this event for the midgets, it looked a lot like talented as he held off drivers like, Tanner Thornson, Christopher Bell, last years winner Bryan Clauson, and Tracy Hines.

It was great to see just a little more great racing late in November in some mild temps.

Thanks for the fun guy's and gals. Enjoy.
