Wondering what some options may be. Planning on spending night in Bloomington and driving into Haubstadt early Saturday and should have some time to kill and to try somewhere local and good.

If anyone says Denny's you are going on my ignore list. lol

As Bob said above lot of good places If you want to tailgate in Haubstadt theres DeWigs Butcher shop and they have great smoked ribs and smoked Boston butts ready to eat. Then theres The Haub House steaks that melt in your mouth also one of my favories Sandys pizza

Saturday is actually Dewig Meats Customer Appreciation Day and they will be having specials all day. They are also a big sponsor for TSS.

In Ft. Branch, just south of Haubstadt, Zack's Diner is really good. Plate lunches, breakfast all day, burgers, Bluegill sandwich is good, and even Prime Rib is excellent.

R'z Cafe in Ft. Branch also is really good.

Just north and east of I-64, off US41, is the Log inn. Been around about 100 years, Abe Lincoln ate there. It's family style chicken, ham, etc,and literally the best sides. Tough to get in sometimes due to the crowds,so you might call ahead. Saturday hours 4pm-10pn.

Carriage Inn is excellent also. Pork chops are great.

One more is the Hornville Tavern, south and west of I-64/US41. They have some fantastic smoked pork chops, and chicken.
