Nov.8th, 2007 -Today is the day of the biggest race of the season for USAC midgets, it is the running of the "Cooper World" midget classic. What was at one time the most talked about race of the season does not even have a thread on this board(until now)! Just hard to vision this event now being an after thought to "The Western World".
I really have no agenda, no direction with this thread, was just hoping to strike up some thoughts about what was once THE race of the season!!

Again, my point, I can find zero about this event! I have been to the USAC site, very little info about today, and little if any mention anywhere else.

Look for today's Silver Crown race to have the largest field yet.

Don't be surprised to see even Ryan Newman in one.

I think it is a shame what ISC, TG and The IRL have done to what was once a major event in open wheel racing.

A side show to NASCAR is not what The Copper was all about, it was a show case for USAC.

I will be there in Feb. for the real Copper at Manzy.

As "time marches on" so many good things get trampled in the dust.
I miss what used to be my annual trip to Phoenix for the Copper Classic and SCRA at Manzy. :crying:
