I knew Steve & Marilyn pretty well, met them in New Orleans dancing zydeco probably 30 years ago. I was impressed when he told me he used to run sprint cars. If I recall correctly he said it was back in the 70s & they ran dirt & pavement both, maybe even wings & wingless too? He said they had to give it up cause it was costing too much, back in the 70s... must be 10 times as expensive now? Zydeco dancing is definitely less expensive & definitely safer too! Thats what I'm doing this weekend until New Years, in Lafayette, Louisiana....
I'm gonna posthumously nominate them for "America's Coolest Couple"!
