The cut-down V-6 engine Nick Arias Jr. described was a V-8 Chevy Big Block equipped with his Chevy-Hemi Conversion Heads.

What kind of cubic inches/horsepower does this make and what happened to this motor? Was it not successful?

Sorry I've been so late in responding, but I'm not always able to get to a computer. Anyway, to answer your question I would assume the reason is because there's not much money, comparitively speaking, to motivate anyone to try something different. The Budde's run Fords, and do pretty well at it, but pretty much everything else is SBC or MOPAR based because that's what people have. As far as induction is concerned, I do believe the rules state normal aspiration (no turbos, blowers, nitrous, etc.), but I may be wrong about that.

Rule 33 (ENGINES - Steel or aluminum blocks with any cubic inch) is the only engine-fuel-aspiration rule I could find.

It appears to me that Turbos, Blowers, SOHC-DOHC V6 & V8s, Hemi Heads, Light Loads of Nitro, Nitrous Oxide,
Etc are legal when running the MSCS.

Anyone know anything different?

Why not cut a V-12 Allison aircraft motor in half? Weren't they like 1700 CID? That would have to be the largest V-6 anyone has ever seen.:O:

Folks,

My wife and I were just cleaning out some stuff to put in some new furniture. She found a pouch which contained a set of the 2004 MSCS rules. In the rules it has the "catch-all" phrase that says, "If the rules don't say you can do it, then you can't." I guess this is where the exotic ideas go to die.
