UAW Kenyon Midgets return to dirt Saturday at US 24

Saturday night the UAW American Made Mel Kenyon Midget Series will return to dirt racing at US 24 Speedway for the first time since June 2. Point leader Dameron Taylor will be riding a three race winning streak into the Logansport dirt oval.

Clayton Gaines has won both dirt races in 2017 and will be looking to halt Taylor’s winning ways. Gaines picked up his first dirt win at US 24 Speedway in May and backed it up with a win on the dirt high banks of Limaland Motorsports Park in June.

Taylor is a two time winner at US 24 so he is no stranger to the winner’s circle on the semi=banked bull ring. Marion (IN) native Kent Kriegbaum is also a two time US 24 winner. Kriegbaum is generally a factor at US 24 and can have a say in the outcome of Saturday’s 25-lap feature.

Ryan Huggler, Gaines and Trey Osborne are locked in a close battle for the second spot in UAW American Made Mel Kenyon Midget Series points. Only 54 markers separate the three drivers, with Huggler leading Gaines by 42 and Gaines edging Osborne by 12. Success at US 24 Speedway traditionally is a big factor in determining the final UAW Kenyon Midget point standings at the end of the season.

Practice is scheduled to begin at 6:00 with the green falling on the night’s racing at 7:00. US 24 Speedway is located just west of Logansport, IN on US Highway 24.
