Good fishin hole near DuQuoin

We're running the SC race at DuQuoin and since the fam is staying home I'm taking my boat to do some fishing. Seems like almost all the lakes are 10hp restricted. I was looking at maybe trying Kinkaid but am open to any suggestions. I'm gonna be hunting for bass unless someone has a good crappie lake to try. I'd be happy to try a restricted HP lake if I can put a 150 on it and idle. Sometimes those are the best lakes anyways. Thanks

Have you tried the app fishing spot? Sorry that's the only help I can give.

We fish tournaments here in MO all summer and have probably tried every fishing app there is. I appreciate your suggestion, I believe I have tried that one before. I've got an app with topo maps of the Midwest but I'm probably only gonna have one day to go so I was hoping for some good referrals from my fellow fisherman cause there's quite a few lakes to choose from in that region. A long time ago I had some decent luck at Devil's Kitchen.

There is a pretty big lake near by called Rend Lake. I have no idea whether it has fish or not, but it looks good sized.

I have had better luck at Crab Orchard than I've had at Rend Lake. I guess depends on where you are staying and when you are coming. Carlyle Lake is a bit of a drive but some good fishing there. |
