Does anyone on the page recognize this Shores sprint car frame from the Indianapolis area? Although not for sale, we would like to trace back the history of the car. The frame is the style where the front of the roll cage is welded to the top of the bar over the rear motor plate. Probably an earlier 80's model. There is an interesting brace in the back of the car above the rear torsion tubes that was added on. Wing mounts were an after thought also. The torque ball housing looks very nice and I have not seen another like it. The motor plate is very clean and I'm speculating this could have been run on asphalt or perhaps with USAC at some point. The front torsion bar bushings look to be oversized on the outside tubes. There is a round holder in the engine area that must have held a cannister or tank. The car is in real good overall condition. The only repair that stands out is a right rear shock tower was professionally rewelded so it didn't have a hard life. Hopefully, this will distinguish the car to someone who may know it. Any help or leads appreciated. Thanks for looking.
