Since the race September 13 is a co-sanctioned event between MSCS and USAC does anyone know which format will be used? Will it be the USAC format with qualifying or the MSCS format with passing points? Just curious.

Yea it should be mscs format. With two co sanctioned events, they usually follow usac format once and and mscs the other. The first event with both series' running was usac format with qualifying.

I wish they would use the USAC format. Tri State is very good at doing time trials quickly.

Plus it makes it feature only points for USAC.

 From the USAC entry blank

Drivers must draw a pill at registration (1-99), heats are lined up with lowest pill draw on the pole of the first heat, the second lowest number is on the pole of the sec-ond heat, etc. Heat races will be 10 laps each. A redraw will be held following the heat races, the top six in passing points will redraw for starting positions 1—6 in the feature. The driver with the most passing points draws 1st, etc.12 Pills are used! Driver drawing the lowest number gets the pole the other 5 drivers are lined up with lowest number drawn second, third, etc.
 The top 16 in passing points earned in the heats will transfer to the Feature, positions 7-16 in passing points will start straight-up behind the top 6 according to passing points totals.
 Drivers 17th through the balance of the field will start straight up according to passing points in the semi-feature (2 semi-features might be necessary if there are enough cars) the top six (6) finishers will transfer to the feature (top three if two semi’s are needed) and start in positions 17—22. Semi-Feature will be 12 laps.
 Late Arrivals who do not pill draw will tag the tail of a heat and not receive passing points, just finish points, drivers not starting a heat race will receive 0 passing points.
 Heat races will be divided into equal groups of 8 to 10 cars or as close as mathematically possible. If there are 41 cars or more there will be a fifth heat race.
 If there is a scratch the row with the missing car moves straight forward.
 Each USAC car entrant and driver will receive feature points for this event, no other points will be awarded.
PRIZE MONEY DISTRIBUTION
Cars not transferring to the feature receive $100.00 each

Its the same format they always use for this race and it always produces a GREAT race, lets just show up and support one of the best paying races in the state this year!

Since they went to the passing points system, if I had to pick a format, I'd pick the MSCS format. Because they have to race for their starting positions in the feature. But it really doesn't matter, either format would almost certainly produce a great race at this place.
