New leadership takes the wheel as the IMCA Indiana RaceSaver Sprints enters its fifth year of competition.

The series founder and current director, Dan Roberts, has decided to step away from his leadership role with the IMCA Indiana RaceSaver Sprints. Dan will be relegating his responsibilities to a five-person board of directors. This change comes after four successful seasons that resulted in positive participation growth as well as great racing around the Hoosier state. To ensure the successful start to the 2019 season, Dan has committed to assist the new board of directors as a consultant until the first race kicks off. We all would like to extend our sincere appreciation for Dan and his efforts to build a successful and affordable winged sprint car series in Indiana.

The 2019 five-person board of directors for the Indiana RaceSaver Sprints has a combined 150+ years of experience in the motorsports industry. The five members are:

- Kevin Huntley – Bloomington, IN
- Daryl Tate – Bloomington, IN
- Mickey Smith – Bloomington, IN
- Alfred Galedrige Jr. – Greenwood, IN
- Bob Shutt – Indianapolis, IN

These changes took effect January 26th and the board has been hard at work completing many tasks since then. The first priority for the board is to ensure that the transition of leadership does not negatively affect the 2019 season in any way. Several Indiana tracks and race teams have committed to this series over the past four race seasons. The new board will respect these commitments and stride to improve upon the solid foundation that has been set in the previous years.

Continued growth is another high priority objective for the board. Plans are in the works to expand the social media presence of the series to highlight the competitors and quality entertainment that the racing provides. In addition to a strong online presence, the series is working hard to secure a season’s end awards banquet coupled with a championship fund for its dedicated competitors. More information will be released when available.

The IMCA RaceSaver rules will be strictly enforced, as they always have since the inception of the Indiana series. A member’s handbook detailing the series rules and procedures is now available. More information will be released over the coming weeks leading up to the start of the race season. Stay tuned to the Indiana RaceSaver Sprints Facebook page throughout the season for racing updates and highlights.
