Putnamville was just as nice, and Lawrenceburg is amazing! I love the race track at Bloomington, just think new lights is a really really good idea there. Great to hear the owners are putting some money into it to update it.

The non wing record set this year was not actually the track non-wing record, it was the USAC record at Bloomington. Im not 100% sure, but I think the actual non-wing record is 10.6, while the wing record is 9.3. I think the 305s could run mid 10s, the 305 that ran the other night ran a couple laps in the 10.9 range, and the car owner said their gearing was WAY off, which is probably why Ive seen people post that the car sounded strained.

I have read in this thread that you can run a 410 sprint car for the same as mini sprint. Is this true? My second question is would be a car good enough to win or just race? My dad raced stock cars and midgets for years, so we have often spoke about the cost of racing. He would always say "well boy, do you wanna race or do you wanna win?" So can a person have a winning quality 410 sprint car for the same price as a mini sprint? That doesn't seem logical to me

Right now the "Mini >Lightning>Sprint is the biggest bang for your buck hands down.

I ran a nonwing sprint for a few years and components are about the same as minisprints. Used 410 -12 about 7000 to 12000. The refresh is where it digs into your wallet. Depending on what needs rebuilt a refresh can cost as much as you payed for the engine. Sprintcars cost more in most cases but I have seen guys drop 10 grand in 600cc micro motors.

The Micro guys don't count, Most of them are fresh out of Go-Karts and will spend any amount of money if they thought they could get an edge, Most Mini Sprinters are more conservative, for $12000.00 I would put you in a very fast stock motored 1000cc car turn key with spares.

Replacement motors go from $1500.00 to $4000.00.

No way. A stock 1000cc bike motor is 3k at the most. I go through probably 5-7 gallons of methanol a night. A GOOD 410 is 20k and they go through 20-25 gallons of methanol a night. That's not even close.

cm

Us 200 hp them 800hp. Four of us equals one of them. Four times $3000.00 equals $12000.00. Four times 7 Gallons equals 28 gallons. Them 410 ci motors get pretty good fuel millage don't they.

Dad,
At Bloomington, a 410 will use about 15 gal. Not 28. 305 will use close to the same with a wing.

Whats true is it cost the same to haul, pay to get in and with a wing, probably more in racing fuel that everyone else pays. What you have in your car is under your control.
