Brian VanMeveren Eager for Kokomo Speedway Doubleheader This Weekend

By Spieker Promotions

PITTSBORO, Ind. (April 2, 2019) – The 2019 season is underway for Brian VanMeveren and Wingo Brothers Racing. VanMeveren was scheduled to compete last Saturday night at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Ind. with the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car Series, but wet, rainy conditions forced the cancellation of the event.

VanMeveren will return to action this weekend at Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Ind.

“The car feels really good right now. It’s got a lot of drive in it, it’s working really well and the motor is really strong,” said VanMeveren of his Wingo Brothers / VanMeveren Law No. 24. “I haven’t been in the car for about five months so it was nice to shake the cobwebs out at Brownstown a couple of weeks ago.”

While he didn’t get the results he was looking for during his first weekend of competition in 2019, VanMeveren was excited with how well the car performed right off the trailer. “We’ve got a car that’s capable of running up front. I just need to get more laps under my belt,” he said. “Kokomo is a pretty badass track. It’s really wide and there’s a lot of room to pass. I do have some laps at Kokomo, unlike Brownstown, so it’ll be nice to get back to a track I already have some experience at.”

Looking ahead, VanMeveren will head to Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, Ind. on April 12 and Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind. on April 13 to compete with the USAC National Sprints. VanMeveren’s primary focus this season is to run well at the USAC shows, so the doubleheader weekend will be a good gauge to see where he stacks up against the country’s best non-wing drivers.

“I always look forward to the USAC events. I’ve never been to Bloomington before so I’m looking forward to getting some laps there. I know it’s a very technical track,” said VanMeveren. “I’ve got some experience at Haubstadt and that’s a place I really enjoy.”

VanMeveren would like to thank all of his sponsors for their continued support!
