Looking for a 1980's midget to restore? This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to restore a Championship Midget with a great racing history! Vintage 1981 Grant King Midget #16 w/ 151 CI Volkswagen engine. This car was driven by Tom Bigelow throughout the ‘80’s, winning numerous features including the 1984 USAC National Midget Championship and back-to-back Indianapolis Speedrome 500 Lap Championships. Current condition of car is slightly upgraded (see additional photos) from the original 1981 car as shown in photo. The car is complete, in running condition, with 151 CI Autocraft, Schroeder Steering, Winters Rear End, and Lockheed brakes. A majority of the original parts are available, including (3) hoods, (2) tail tanks, (1) tail shell, original oil tank, (1) motor plate, (2) instrument panels, original seat w/upholstery, front axle, complete Jones Rear End, original Nerf bars, bumpers, (2) complete front hub spindle assemblies, (3) loose spindles, (2) nose cones, (1) dirt nose cone, (3) exhaust header sets w/ (2) Super Trap mufflers. Additional miscellaneous parts include (8) 13” aluminum wheels, (10) Pro shocks, (2) Halibrand hub wing nuts, (2) drive shafts, (3) torque bells. (2) U-joints, various steering components, spacers, torsion stops, (1) Tachometer, water temperature and oil pressure gauges, (2) Schroeder Pinless Quick Release Hub, (5) Lockheed Brakes and calipers, (3) 2pc brake hats. This car is easily restorable to the early 1980’s car. Complete racing history, photographs and related information is available. Sandy Racing is the original car owner. Additional photos available upon request. The car is located in Indiana.

I am looking for a circle track car to run vintage events, particularly one with a clutch or AT. If this car is still available and is not direct-drive please contact me.
Thanks,
Chuck Smith
