Does every winner get their tires checked in every USAC series? When is the last time a driver has been caught?

This made me think of Duke Cook and his tire truck at Terre Haute. Duke raced a USAC sprint car and also sold tires. He parked his truck in the infield across from the grandstand and had his little dog tethered to the bumper. The pooch would water the tires that were on the ground. Wonder how that would have shown up if USAC had checked the tires?

Back when I was a tech man on the go-kart scene I used a AC leak tester, I don't have any idea how you could get any better than that, it only had one fault, perfume and cologne would set it off also, but you could depend on your nose for that, never had an argument with any one.

I can remember many years ago, I was in the pits at the Indy speedrome. The pit area had a thin layer of asphalt over crushed stone. One guy doctored his tires. He rolled it off the trailer and it sat there until time to go on the track. When they rolled it forward, the asphalt stuck to the tires. They were sent home without running a lap.
