Follow Patrick Davis on twitter. He is here a few rows in front of me and is the master of updating on the fly.

So, did Windom have anything for them before problems!? I thought so.. It seemed both Swanson and Windom were both waiting for Swindell's car to go away

That should clinch the 2017 Silver Crown Championship for Kody Swanson and Depalma Motorsports. 105 point lead after tonight, one race remaining with maximum points of 76 available per the USAC rule book. Congratulations!

I never had a bad day, just some more challenging than others!

Random notes

Wish I would have been sitting closer to turn 4 for that pass when Swanson got by Swindell in traffic. From where we were sitting (closer to turn 1) it looked fantastic

Thumbs up to TE crew for track prep. They actually put water on it later in the night and sight of those cars under the lights running the cushion up near the wall, to me, one of the most beautiful sights in racing

Great run by Joey Moughan... getting better and better

Well said tribute to the late Randy Bateman before the race and a solid run by Shuman in the 55. He can wheel a race car

While Keith Burch was bad fast two weeks ago, wondering if last nights showing wasn't simply due to the car not being the same after the turn 1 wreck early at Springfield

Like Springfield, definitely a good crowd... one of the larger in recent years. No doubt good car counts in both divisions help

Austin Nemire continues to improve in the 16

At 56, Jeff Swindell hasn't missed a beat - my goodness he was fast early on

Kody Swanson is just smart, fast, a pro in these cars

While it wasn't a fast car (think he was actually faster in the modified) still very cool to see Schrader back out there
