It's really gonna be a 3 day show to start the season??? Even just a practice night is more laps on the cars and track...what's nice about some dirt races is there is usually just a quick hotlap session and then you start racing (2-3 classes at the most) about 7pm...

We've been up to Cedar Lake several times for the big dirt late model shows they put on there, although it's been a few years ago now.

The times we've been there they did a good job with track preparation and ran a tight show, keeping things moving along.

Unless things have changed recently, camping can be somewhat of an adventure, especially if it rains.

IMHO the midgets will put on a good show there. It's definitely out in the country. Depending on weather and rainfall a little side attraction could be tubing down the Apple River. That deal can take on a 1970's Indy Snake Pit flavor. LOL!
It's too bad the midgets won't run on the outdoor track at all. Nice wide joint with a ton of Banking. Easily one of the fastest ovals in the midwest. WoO Sprints average a blistering 135+ mph around that place...

No press release on it yet. But it has been added to the Badger Schedule. However Cedar Lake shows it being a 3 day show from March 8-10th. Badger's schedule only shows the 9-10th.

Official release will go out on Wednesday, but yes it's Saturday Night (March 9) and Sunday afternoon (March 10) racing (two complete events), with optional practice Friday Night.

Only 5:30 or 305 miles from Plymouth. Come'on up, the Beer's already on ice!

Actually, it's ALWAYS on ice!

I will do some checking on this. Might depend on what time things are happening on Sunday. Can't really take Monday off since my vacation for 2013 is already spoken for.

The Sunday show will be an afternoon show. If I remember right, the racing starts at like 1pm or something close to that. Racing should be done by 5 or 6 at the latest

BADGER MIDGET SERIES PRESS RELEASE
Contact: Bryan Gapinski ###-###-#### (cell)

“Midget Auto Racing returns to Cedar Lake Speedway Arena”
“Two day event to open Badger season March 8-10”

By Bryan Gapinski
New Richmond, Wis., Jan. 2---“The Indoor Nationals” marks the return of midget auto racing to the Cedar Lake Speedway Arena for the first time in nearly five years! Officials of the facility announced that the Stark Automotive Group/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series will run a two-day event at the indoor quarter-mile dirt oval on March 9-10. Also competing in the event will be Legends Cars, and Slingshots.

In mid-February, track officials will replace the motocross track with a quarter-mile clay oval, same size as when Badger ran in March 2008, with Brandon Waelti, and Dave Darland winning the feature events. Drivers will be looking to break David Gough’s one-lap record of 11.818 seconds.

The event will be the season opener for the Badger, the country's oldest midget auto racing organization, and will feature two complete shows. An optional practice night is scheduled for Friday night, March 8. Saturday Night March 9 racing will kickoff at 6 p.m., with Sunday afternoon’s racing events starting at 1 p.m. Saturday’s event will pay $2,000 to win, with Sunday’s winning capturing $2,500, with a $1,000 bonus to any driver winning both features.

The first twenty midget entries will be guaranteed an indoor heated pit stall. For more entry or tickets information, visit www.cedarlakespeedway.com or call (612) 363-0479.
