BOSS Non-Wing Sprint Cars Set To Make 2015 Return To Montpelier Motor Speedway, Saturday, September 12th

The inaugural 2014 Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series event at the Montpelier Motor Speedway brought a standing room only crowd and an outstanding field of 41 410 Non-Wing Sprint Cars to the Montpelier Motor Speedway. The 2015 rendition being contested on Saturday, September 12th, should prove to be just as exciting with the Montpelier Motor Speedway, located in East Central Indiana, serving as one of the few select tour stops to an Indiana track for the Ohio based series.

Rocklin, California’s, Robert Balllou, picked up the inaugural 2014 BOSS victory at the Montpelier Motor Speedway in a heavily contested race that saw 5 different leaders over the course of 25 laps . Todd Keen, Brandon Spithaler, Jon Stanbrough, Scotty Weir, and Ballou all spent time in front of the field. In the end, it was Ballou who was victorious followed by a contingent of drivers in the top 6 who started mid pack or deeper including Scotty Weir (from 7th), Jarrett Andretti [from 10th], Logan Jarrett [from 19th ] , Travis Berryhill [from 11th] , and Cooper Clouse [from 13th). The 2014 BOSS event at Montpelier brought sprint entries from Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and California. Wapokenta, Ohio’s Mike Miller was able to secure the 2014 BOSS Series Championship a few weeks later after posting a 11th place finish at MMS.

The BOSS series is a non-wing 410 Sprint Car series that competes in true “Outlaw” style with the absence of tire rules allowing any brand or compound of tire to compete along with a no entry fee policy for competitors. The BOSS series, through sponsorship, pays “heat race money” to the top finishers in each heat race and also provides a number of contingency and cash awards to competitors at the conclusion of each event. The Montpelier Motor Speedway event will pay a healthy $1500 to Win and $250 to Start along with tow money and the aforementioned contingency awards.

Also, in action will be the popular and always action packed UMP Modifieds, Super Streets, and Thunder Cars, General Admission is $15 while Kids (12 and Under) are FREE!

The Montpelier Motor Speedway, which began racing in 1903 and hosted its first automobile race in 1915, is one of America’s oldest remaining racing facilities. While the east central Indiana ¼ mile clay oval has a historic past, the facility has seen many major modern upgrades the past four seasons including new restrooms and bleachers along with the addition of many safety features including a new catch fence and front stretch wall. The Montpelier Motor Speedway commonly competes weekly on Saturday Nights with its popular Modified and Stock Car divisions and is also the host to the popular Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget series.

Just a couple of things for Saturday’s BOSS program:

Gate Times
Spectator Gates will open at 3:00PM. Please be courteous when marking seats as we will have a capacity crowd and want to make sure everyone has a good and comfortable seat to view the races. The drivers meeting will occur at 5:00 with hot laps to follow.

Methanol
We do have Methanol for sale at the track. The fuel dealer will be located diagonal from the restrooms in a red trailer.

Media Credentials
Those needing media credentials (1 only) please email bemcevoy@yahoo.com by 8:00PM Friday your name, web addresses/media location where the coverage will be used or displayed. In exchange for the credential, the Montpelier Motor Speedway may use the photographs, videos, or new stories within their website or social media for promotional purpose without payment. All work will be credited to the original owner.

Pit Parking
Sprint pit parking will be on the south ends of the pits near the track entrance. For the safety of those in the pits, we ask that only Sprint cars and their crews pit in this area. We will have a large roped off area to indicate this area and will have staff members directing traffic to this area.

Thanks to all of the support we have received for this event so far from both fans and drivers. We appreciate it!

My radar is showing rain in that area. Going to head that way until they tell us to turn around. Lol. You never know it could be the best show of the year and we would not want to miss that one.
