When it says "new track record" is that the record for wingless sprints, or overall record?

USAC Sprint Car track record.

Track record for a winged 410 at the Grove is 16.140 by Brian Paulus. This post made me curious to look it up. Having done Williams Grove in iracing I can’t conceive a 16.1 lap. Pure insanity. 19.5 in a non wing is wild also.

Rumor had it from those there that the Paulus lap from 2002 was an error and that there’s no way he went that fast that night.

Even still, Hodnett and Sammy have both posted laps of 16.1 since then. Usually on cool nights when the engines put out the most hp.

Looked like a big crowd last night and the night before at Grandview , good news for making Usac bigger outside of the state of Indiana.
