BOSS Returns to Historic Fremont Speedway

This Saturday, June 16th will see the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series back at the "track that action built", Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio. Sitting on the historic Sandusky County Fairgrounds, the scenic 1/3 mile dirt oval is rich in motorsports history dating back to the 1920's on the original half mile fair oval. The track was shortened for automobiles and began weekly racing in 1951.

This Saturday will be "Meet the Drivers Night" for fans in attendance. Sitting under the wooden covered grandstand is a trip back in time that every fan needs to experience! Those who arrive early can also explore the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame & Museum.

For the traveling stars of the BOSS tour, only 2 of the scheduled seven events have been completed. Mother nature has claimed a record FIVE events already. Chase Briscoe, from Mitchell, Indiana, won the opening round at Fremont on May 5th. The only other race completed was at Richmond Raceway in Kentucky where Paul Dues fended off the last lap heroics of Matt Cooley to score his first tour win.

Former All Star and USAC star, Bill Rose from Plainfield, Indiana, has emerged as the current points leader. A solid fifteen drivers have committed to the tour full time. Two time and defending titlist, Dustin Smith, finds himself second in the current standings despite losing his ride after round 1. He piloted a car for another team on a one night basis in Kentucky. He is currently seraching for an open seat and an opportunity to become the first 3 time champion.

Sitting in the number 3 spot, on the strength of his win in Richmond, is Minster, Ohio's Paul Dues. Joe Liguori and Matt Cooley round out the top 5. The balance of the top 10 includes 2014 champion Mike Miller, Ted Hines, Cody Gardner, Chad Wilson and Steve Little.

In addition to the BOSS traditional wingless sprint cars, the winged 305 sprints, dirt trucks and late models will be racing. Gates will open at 4 pm for competitors and fans. Racing action will begin at 7 pm. Adult general admission is $15 withseniors just $13. Students are $10 and kids 10 and under are FREE in general admission. If you can't make it to the event in person, you can watch all the racing action from all 4 classes LIVE on pay per view throught the ISC / ETC Sports Network.

For competing teams, all pit passes are $30. Drivers meeting is scheduled for 5:30 pm. This is a standard BOSS show with pill draw heat lineups and the standard $1,500 to win / $250 to start purse. As always, there are no fees or memberships. The yellow transponders will be required and they will be available for rent for just $5 from the race track.

The TCB Speed parts truck will be on hand to service all your sprint car needs. Mufflers are NOT required for this event.
