ROSS RANKINE MAKING DEBUT WITH RW MOTORSPORTS

Brownsburg, Indiana (December 13, 2012) — 2011 & 2012 USAC Midwest Focus Midget Pavement Champion and Dirt Champion Ross Rankine, of Brownsburg, Indiana, will make his debut in the Beast midget for the RW Motorsports team for the 2013 season. Ross will pilot the #17 Midget and make his first start at the third annual Battle at the Center, a non-points event with an all-star field sanctioned by the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series, on Saturday (Dec 15) at the Southern Illinois Center’s Mini Magic Mile.

In 2012, Ross drove the #9 and #39 Focus Midget in the USAC Focus Midget series and he won 9 races en route to winning both the USAC Midwest Focus Midget Pavement Series Championship and USAC Midwest Focus Dirt Championship. He also won the Focus Midget portion of the 71st running of the Turkey Night Grand Prix, on Thanksgiving, 2011, and finished second overall in the USAC National Focus Pavement Championship.
Sixteen-year-old Ross is already clear about his goal for this race. “This race is all about getting valuable seat time and to get comfortable with my new team.”
Ross understands the importance of working with a solid and professional team like RW Motorsports. “I can’t wait to work with Evan Avart, Darr Lawson and Krieg Poland of RW Motorsports in 2013. They have a first class operation and work together to make a powerful team.

Ross had a spectacular 2012 season and is now poised and ready for the challenge of preparing for this year’s competitive POWRi and USAC Midget Pavement and Dirt Series. perpetuate Ross’s USAC and POWRi midget programs.“We are very excited to have Ross driving for RW Motorsports in the midget division in 2013,” said Darr Lawson, RW Motorsports team manager “Ross has developed quickly and I know that he will continue to work hard to improve. I look forward to working with him to take the next step in his racing career.” Our plan is to run the entire POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series, USAC Dirt and Pavement events this year.

As a result of his success and the prospect for another strong season, a number of new sponsors have come on board. And there is still opportunity for additional sponsors to become involved to.
