APRIL 28TH – KING OF THE MIDWEST SPRINTS - $2,500 TO WIN

The 6th Annual King of the Midwest Sprints race will be held on Saturday night April 28th at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Ind. This event features an increased purse with the Kelsey Chevrolet Sprints paying $2,500 to win and $250 to start the 25-lap feature.

King of the Midwest Sprints Feature Payout ($11,225 total)
1- $2,500, 2- $1,250, 3- $1,000, 4- $700, 5- $600, 6- $500, 7- $475, 8- $450, 9- $425, 10- $400, 11- $375, 12- $350, 13- $325, 14- $300, 15- $275, 16- $270, 17- $265, 18- $260, 19- $255, 20- $250.

As standard practice at all Lawrenceburg Speedway races there will be $100 tow money paid to all sprint cars that do not start the feature. The Lawrenceburg Speedway Safety Crew also presents a $63 Grasshopper Award to the feature hard charger in memory of the late Bryan Clauson.

In addition to the increased purse Saturday night there will also be a slight change to the Lawrenceburg Speedway race format.

A blind pill draw will still be used to set the heat race groups, but lap times gathered during practice will set the heat race lineups. Cars will be lined straight up by time with the fastest four cars in each heat race inverted.

Heat race finish will still determine the lineups for the B Main(s) and feature with the top two finishers in each heat race (if five or more heats only the winners) redrawing for their starting position at the front of the feature field.

KING OF THE MIDWEST SPRINTS RACE THIS WEEKEND!

The Kelsey Chevrolet Sprints return to the 3/8ths mile high banks of the Lawrenceburg Speedway Saturday night April 28th where a new point leader will emerge and the 2018 ‘King of the Midwest Sprints’ will be crowned.

Defending ‘King of the Midwest Sprints’ Dickie Gaines drove the Jason Soudrette Racing 44 to a top five feature finish in the season opener and hopes to improve that by four positions to join CJ Leary as the only two-time King. Gaines, the 2003 track champion, could face competition from former track champions Jordan Kinser (2017), Joss Moffatt (2007, 2009, 2015) and Shawn Westerfeld (2014), who will each be looking for their first crown and the $2,500 check that goes along with it.
King of the Midwest Sprints
2013 CJ Leary
2014 Kevin Thomas, Jr.
2015 CJ Leary
2016 Jon Stanbrough
2017 Dickie Gaines
In addition to the Kelsey Chevrolet Sprints the Budweiser UMP Modifieds, Impact Sports Pure Stocks and Bessler’s U Pull & Save Hornets will also be racing. The grandstand opens at 5:00 pm, practice is at 6:00 pm, and racing begins at 7:00 pm. Adult general admission is $18, children 7-12 are $7, and those 6 and under are free.

It is also Scout Night at the Races and all youth scouts who enter the gate in uniform will receive FREE general admission (must enter through the main front gate entrance). Special promotions, tickets, and Family Four Packs are only redeemable at the main front gate entrance.

Pit passes cannot be purchased as an upgrade from a promo ticket, Family Four Pack, or a theme night.
