To be clear, I'm not crying about safety or who's fault this is/was.. I was merely pointing out what happened and thinking about Robert in this terrible time for him. Stevensville (Hi Mike!) Pointed out that RHR could have easily been the worse part of this wreck, and I don't disagree. But I really didn't think the post would turn into what it has. I like others like to watch those guys run wheel to wheel and NOT wreck, especially at great tracks like Pocono. I know it will eventually happen but hate to see it.
In fact, I wonder if Robert was injured when the car hit the wall with the bottom of the car, and not as much as the "fence" imact. The DW12's have some energy reducing foam under the seat and that's it for underside crash protection.
The amount of complainingn I've heard from Indycar fans this year is unreal. Makes me want to no longer watch.
But I have an answer to almost all there problems.
1. Put the engine in the front
2. Cuts down costs
3. Gets more ovals
4. Series becomes even more diversified
5. I bet we'd have 100 + cars show up for Indy
6. More American drivers
7. Bridges the gap between dirt and Indycar
8. Already has built in head protection
I remember in the garage at Indy with 4 of us talking about this subject came up. Dan Gurney told us. Tell me what kind of wreck we are going have. And I will build a car for that wreck.
