BOSS Readies for Kokomo Sprint Car Smackdown

History will be made, this Saturday, August 25th, when the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series joins with the historic United States Auto Club to bring a plethora of traditional sprint car racing to the forefront. The 7th annual "Sprint Car Smackdown" at Kokomo Speedway is on the horizon. Four days of racing will kick off on Wednesday night, August 22nd with "free general admission" night. A full USAC program will be conducted on Thursday and Friday. Saturday will find the USAC finale on tap with a full program from the stars and cars of BOSS.

To maintain the integrity of the BOSS portion of the show, any driver having made a past Smackdown Saturday A-Main is not eligible to compete. The BOSS program will be the standard show purse and format with pill draw heat race lineups. BOSS rules will appply for our part of the show only, including the open tire rule. As always, there are no fees to compete in sanctioned events.

The BOSS full purse is as follows: 1500, 900, 700, 600, 500, 450, 400, 375, 350, 325, 300, 290, 280, 270, 260, 250 to start. If more than 30 cars sign in, the starting field will be increased to 22 cars. If there are 40 or more cars signed in for the program, then the field will be increased to 24 starters.

As always, heat race pay will be included courtesy of our fine heat race sponsors: TCB Speed, Hoosier Race Tire, American Racer Tires, and All Pro Cylinder Heads. Also, there are 8 bonus awards handed out during every event. Additional awards have been added for this race, now totaling 10 bonus awards courtesy of the following: Cowen truck Line, The Bridge Restaurant, JF Construction, Apple Metal Polishing, All Star Performance, Hoosier Tire, American Racer Tires, Superior Bearing & Supply, and Horne Performance Motorsports.

Gates will open at 3 pm each day. Racing action is slated for 7:30. For Saturday, general admission is $35 with pit passes $45. No mufflers are required for this event. Transponders will be provided.
