Probably like setting your camper up in your back yard. If you camp behind turn 4 of the grandstand, you are right across the street from houses. It is very flat though,so no trouble leveling out. No hookups. Might as well do a double detour and go to Little Belleville for POWRi midgets on Friday night too......

The only minor downside to Macon camping is there is little, if any shade. But then again that's true of most racetrack camping. The small town (approximate population of 1150) of Macon, Illinois is a welcoming community and is 4 square behind the racetrack much like FALS in Fairbury, Illinois. If you run short of, or need anything during your stay and it's not available in Macon, Decatur is less than 10 miles north of Macon. Decatur is a city of over 75,000 so you should be able to find most anything you might need.

If you've never attended a midget event at Mighty Macon you're in for quite a treat. Macon tops our list of midget venue's with Little Belleville a close second. Have fun!! I think you'll love the place, the atmosphere and, of course, the racing!

Silver Crown Championship Dirt Cars properly driven on a one mile dirt track are classic poetry in motion. Using that analogy, Jack Hewitt is one of the greatest poets of all time.

Even if it's just for practice...sit in turn 3...two rows up...right behind the stop-and-go light...

You're welcome lol...
