I'm looking for information on health insurance for drivers. I'm not a professional (FAR from it), but am potentially needing to get a policy to cover myself for injuries while racing. Any info on this would be appreciated. Who sells policies for hobby racers? Approximately what do they cost? How thorough is the coverage?

Robbie Rice at STIDA. Don't know much about it, but have only heard good things.

I have been using the Competitive Advantage Program for a few years. Thankfully I haven't had to make any claims, but so far their customer service has been good.

how does that USAC 200,000 excess work ? cant seem to get any answers from USAC - just for National midgets or local D2 and Regional midgets-
is that on top of the drivers own medical insurance /and or any insurance the track provides ? - my medical insurance will not cover injuries in a professional sport - so now what ?

This has been a few years back, but we were told that it only kicks in after any other insurance you may have has been used, you may have a chance with your track insurance, just sayin.
