I'm not familiar with BOSS. I'm just a Gas City, Kokomo spectator sometimes. I don't understand how u could have to many cars. How would you control car count. I almost made drive east to visit Waynesfield but rain chances scared me off. Wish I would have made trip.

Strategic scheduling is the answer. Last night, Waynesfield would have had 30-40 cars without BOSS. We would prefer to come in and HELP a track on a night they need a good show. Last night with so many cars to pay a nice purse to, we were told we actually hurt WRP more than help them. BOSS is here to help promoters and drivers, not hurt them.

Ok that I get it,

One last question, how does a car running a BOSS race differ from a weekly show car at Kokomo or Gas City ?

Nice of you to come on and address Aaron

I've seen others run 5-6 heats and only use the heat winner in the redraw but then the guy who drove from 9th to 2nd is still buried.

Understand the predicament. Sure the purse with tow, consi money etc is setup for probably at least 15 less on average.

The fans got their moneys worth and will be back, Thats the main thing. Agreed on the helping tracks. Certain weeks some tracks can have big shows scheduled against them and need a boost to be worthwhile to open the gates and put on a good show.

Heck of a predicament, Im for one am thankful, Someone like you and yours and your teams are doing what your doing.

Chuck

Matt Westfall from 8th to 2nd in his heat, then from 7th to win the feature. The cream rose to the top. The best car won. That's the point of this million dollar exercise, right?

To answer the question, BOSS cars only differ in that we do not have a tire rule (run any brand you want), we do not fool with weighing cars (that's a winged problem) and BOSS drivers never pay any "fees". We try to put on shows good enough that promoters make their money at the FRONT gate, not the back gate. BOSS also pays a lot of bonus awards (see above) and we also pay money out to heat race top 4 finishers.

I'm working on buying transponders so drivers no longer pay for those either. BOSS could use a few more great sponsors. Last night we picked up a brand new heat sponsor for the balance of the year - Fast Signs of Dayton, Ohio!!! Please take time to send them a thank you if you enjoy what BOSS does!!

Multiple B Mains are the devil. Two guys run from 9th to 3rd and miss the transfer. C-B-A is always the most fair. Then there's no "well, I'm sure I would have transferred out of that one if I were in it." Even playing field with C-B-A. No questions on who was fast enough to make the final 24.

Quicktime, I want to fully understand where you are coming from. So those 9th place b-main starters would have been better off running a C-Main? Taking a chance on tearing the car up and using up tires and fuel? Then starting at the back of a B-Main that would have been bigger than the one they started 9th in? I'm not being sarcastic, I seriously want to know how it would be advantageous to do that?

Just because a race is smaller in number doesn't make it more feasible to transfer or more fair.

By running C-B, the guys at the back can split their assignment into two races. Second, there is no question as to if they would have transferred if they had an "easier" B Main. As you do it now, what if the 9 best cars all draw the same heat? You take 3 of them through the heat, and then put them all in the same B that transfers 2. You put 5 into the feature and 4 of the best 9 cars can be on the trailer only because of your draw. Just not a fair or legitimate way to do it.

High car counts will happen, and things like last night are a good thing in the grand scheme. But the current way is not the best way. I'd suggest passing points too. It's not difficult to do anymore.
