A few weeks ago I noticed that turns 3 & 4 have been getting wider. Now it runs about halfway over to the sign boards. No longer is there a good cushion and a drop off point. most drivers, in all divisions, that venture to the top wind up losing places as the bottom is much shorter way around. LPS had become my favorite track to attend but now with this extra wide turn I believe it has taken away some competitiveness and forced racing on the bottom. It may be just me, but I much preferred the race track when the north end was about the same width as the south end.

KT didn't run the bottom last night and won. Terre Haute is much longer around the top and Farney won up there?

I'm not saying you can't run the top and win. At most tracks the top is the fast way around. THAT doesn't have one end wider than the other as is the case now at LPS. Just don't see the need to take a great race track and start changing the configuration.

I think the reason the top is closer to the top is because the racers use running off the backstretch more and more moves everything up on that end. The wall on main stretch doesn't allow a wide arc into 1. Just thinking

Just think it wasn't that high before, why now ? I am not complaining as I love the whole experience at LPS, just wondering why the change. OH and I love a big cushion.

The overall track is larger than it use to be. Go watch some of those Racin with DO videos from the 90s, and see how far from the billboards 3&4 were vs now. I bet it's a good 1/16 mile longer than it was back then.
