ALL COAST CHALLENGE UPDATE: FREE ENTRY FOR EARLY REGISTRATION - EXPANDED BOUNTY - UP TO DATE ENTRY LIST!

(Ventura, CA, April 18, 2015) With the May 9th “All Coast Challenge” at the Ventura Raceway only three weeks away, Mike Grosswendt continues to work hard to make this one of the most prestigious races in all of traditional sprint car racing. On Friday, Grosswendt made several more exciting announcements regarding the all sprint car show that will feature the Amsoil USAC/CRA Series!

First on the agenda, Grosswendt announced that All Coast will pay the USAC entry fee for any team that pre-enters the race by May 1st. Entering is simple. All one has to do is call or E-mail stating the intention to race at the event on the picturesque track that is adjacent to Pacific Ocean on the Ventura County Fairgrounds. Teams can phone or E-mail Scott Daloisio at: (909) 226-7768 or mailto:sdaloisiosports@aol.com

The race will pay $5,000.00 to win, $2,500 for second and $1,250.00 for third. It will also pay $500.00 to start the main event. Longtime Southern California sprint car mechanic Jimbo McCoskey, who has worked for stars such as “Showtime” Danny Sheridan, the Vander Weerds, Bruce Douglass and also worked on Damion Gardner’s “World Fastest Sprint Car” effort at Bonneville, wanted in on the action and he is putting up $500.00 for the main event “Hard Charger.”

“Jimbo got me to thinking about Danny Sheridan,” Grosswendt said after talking with McCoskey. “So, All Coast is putting up a $500.00 bounty to any car owner who puts him (Sheridan) in a car for the race. The same with David Cardey. All Coast will put up $500.00 to any car owner who puts “Dynamite” into a car for the race as well.”

In addition to local stars Sheridan and Cardey, All Coast still has $500.00 for any owner who puts Nic Faas, Jon Stanbrough, Shane Golobic, Bud Kaeding, Jonathon Henry, Dave Darland or Gary Taylor in a car. Mike Phulps already accepted the challenge and will receive $500.00 for entering Ryan Bernal in the race.

Thanks to Harold Osmer from HO publishing, the driver “swag bags” got even better this week. Each entered driver was already receiving a bag that will contain the event poster, All Coast Construction t-shirt, In N’ Out Burger gift card, surf stickers, Surf N’ Sprint stickers, Ventura Raceway stickers and other surprises. Now Osmer’s spectacular hardcover book “Saugus Speedway Scrapbook” will also be included in each bag. Anyone else who would like to contribute to driver “swag bags” can call or E-mail or call the contact information at the top or bottom of this release.

As earlier announced, any past VRA (Ventura Racing Association) champion or any locals who normally runs with VRA (who have started two VRA races prior to May 9th) will receive a free Hoosier right rear tire from All Coast. The first two VRA drivers to jump in were Troy Rutherford and Tom Hendricks. Also, Arizona teams will receive $500.00 in tow money (if two teams travel together in one hauler, the $500.00 will be paid to the team that owns the hauler). The first driver to enter from Arizona is Shon Deskins.

As stated above, teams are urged to pre-enter the event by May 1st to help get the word out on who will be at the prestigious race and to get the following benefits when they arrive at the track on race night.

TOW MONEY checks ready on arrival for AZ drivers
DRIVER GIFT BAGS on arrival
HOOSIER TIRES on arrival for VRA Regulars and Champions
BOUNTY MONEY for select driver checks ready on arrival

Teams that do not pre-enter will still receive all of the perks, but they will be mailed after the race.

Not to be forgotten, the fans will be included in the giveaways, too. There will be a dance contest for the kids to the Beatle’s “Twist and Shout.” The top dancer is going to pick up a great prize to be announced in upcoming weeks. T-shirts will also be given away to some lucky fans. Nostalgic Beatles music will rock the house all night long on a special P.A. system being brought in just for the race.
